What a fantastic event!
Energy Trading Week Europe 2025 brought together an exceptional community of professionals from across the energy trading and risk management sectors. The atmosphere was vibrant – from the busy exhibition floor to the lively discussions, reflecting an industry that continues to build on strong foundations of innovation and collaboration.
It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces, meet new contacts, and exchange ideas with practitioners from across the industry. Events like this underscore the strength of the community driving progress in analytics, optimisation, and trading technology.
Insights and Themes Shaping the Conversation
Across the two days, the Lacima stand was constantly abuzz with conversation. Our representatives, Stephen Appleyard and Nathaniel Savage, spent the event engaging with a wide range of firms – from major utilities to emerging market participants – discussing the latest developments in energy risk and valuation.
“It was a really great event. Lots of engagement from plenty of companies. The new venue is brilliant and almost resembles a mini London E-World.”
Consistent themes throughout the event were connected to broader trends shaping the industry, including:
-
The acceleration of battery storage deployment and renewable integration, driving demand for advanced valuation and optimisation tools.
-
A stronger emphasis on automation and data integration to enable faster, more consistent decision-making.
-
Ongoing interest in portfolio-level risk analytics, from market and credit risk to optimisation and stress testing, in order to better manage exposure across diverse asset classes.
These topics align closely with Lacima’s long-standing focus on helping energy and commodity market participants capture and manage value through advanced analytics, modelling, and optimisation solutions.
Collaboration Across the EEX Group
We were also delighted that Marianne Hocking from our parent company, the European Energy Exchange (EEX), joined us at our stand during the event. Her visit was a reminder of the strong collaboration within the EEX Group and our shared commitment to supporting innovation and efficiency across global energy markets.
Looking Ahead
Energy Trading Week 2025 was a resounding success – not only in its organisation and new venue but in the quality of engagement and forward-looking conversations it inspired. It’s clear that as markets evolve, collaboration between trading firms, technology providers, and exchanges will continue to play a vital role in driving progress.
We’d like to extend our thanks to the organisers, fellow exhibitors, and every delegate who took the time to visit our stand or connect with our team during the week.
If we didn’t get a chance to connect with you during the conference, we’d love to continue the conversation.
