As the importance of wind and solar assets continues to grow, new contracts have emerged to monetise and risk-manage these assets, most notably Power Purchase Agreements (‘PPAs’). With PPAs now comprising substantial portfolios, the ability to price structured PPA trades, and the ability to manage the risk for portfolios of energy trades, including PPAs along with more traditional assets and standard hedge instruments, is a key focus for market participants.
With the aim of exploring this in more detail, EEX Group and Lacima partnered to present a webinar showcasing how Lacima Analytics provides the ability to value PPA structures and calculate risk exposures for both hedged and unhedged portfolios.

Dr Chris Strickland
Dr Chris Strickland is co-founder of Lacima. In 2005 Chris was inducted into the Energy Risk Hall of Fame, and in 2009 was named in an elite international group of five by Energy Risk Magazine as a pioneering quantitative analyst who has made an outstanding contribution to energy trading and shaped today’s global energy markets. He has also co-authored (with Les Clewlow) and edited a number of influential texts on the topics of energy derivatives and risk management, including “Energy Derivatives – Pricing and Risk Management” and “Implementing Derivatives Models”.
